Getting Started

Q: How do I create my first meal plan?

Go to the "List" tab → Add at least 7 dishes in "Dishes" tab → Return to "List" → Tap "Create my week" → Confirm when happy with the plan.

Q: What's a "dish"?

Anything you eat! Home-cooked meals, takeout spots, restaurants, or meal prep. Name it however you want: "Pasta Carbonara", "Chicken from bistro", "McDonald's".

For example, if you usually eat McDonald's each Wednesday, just create a meal called "McDonald's". Then when you create your week plan, replace the Wednesday meal with it.

Q: Do I need internet to use Listie?

Mostly no. Your meals, plans, and grocery lists are stored locally on your device and work 100% offline. An internet connection is only used briefly at startup to enforce the free trial fairly across reinstalls.

Free Trial & Subscription

Q: How does the free trial work?

You get a 21-day free trial that starts automatically when you first install Listie. During this trial, you can create up to 3 weekly meal plans. No credit card required, no automatic billing.

The trial ends when the first of these conditions is met:

Q: What happens after the free trial?

You'll need to subscribe to Listie+ (4.99€/month) to create new weekly meal plans. Your existing dishes and saved plans remain on your device.

Q: Does reinstalling the app reset my free trial?

No. Your free trial is linked to your device to ensure fairness for all users. Uninstalling and reinstalling the app — even with iCloud disabled — does not reset the 21-day timer or your meal plan count.

Q: Can I cancel anytime?

Absolutely. iOS Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → Listie → Cancel.

Q: How do I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple: https://reportaproblem.apple.com

Using Listie

Q: How do I add a dish?

Dishes tab → Tap "+" button → Fill in the details → Save.

Q: What are ingredients for?

Ingredients automatically generate your grocery list. Add them if you want an automatic list, or leave blank if you just want the meal plan.

Q: Can I add recipe links?

Yes! When creating a dish, there's an optional "Recipe URL" field. The link will appear in your meal plan for quick access.

Q: How does anti-repetition work?

Enable it in the "List" tab settings. Listie will avoid dishes from your previous week when generating the new week.

Q: Can I modify a confirmed meal plan?

Yes! Go to the "List" tab → Use one of the three buttons inside individual meals → The "Grocery" and "Current Week" tabs update automatically.

Grocery List

Q: How is the grocery list created?

Listie automatically compiles ingredients from all dishes in your confirmed meal plan, organized by category.

Q: Can I add items manually?

Yes! In the "Grocery" tab, tap "Add an article" to add non-meal items (e.g., toilet paper, coffee).

Q: Do manual items disappear when I create a new week?

No. Manual items persist across weeks. Check them off, uncheck, or delete as needed.

Data & Privacy

Q: Where is my data stored?

Your meals, plans, and grocery lists are stored locally on your iPhone. If you have iCloud enabled, they are automatically backed up to your personal iCloud account — only you can access them. A small anonymous device identifier is stored on secure EU servers exclusively to enforce the free trial fairly.

Q: What happens if I delete the app?

Note: your subscription always remains active (managed by Apple), and your free trial status is always remembered (even without iCloud).

Q: How do I enable iCloud backup?

iCloud backup is enabled by default if you have iCloud activated on your iPhone.

To check:

Q: Does Listie track me?

No. We don't track you for advertising or profiling purposes. Listie only stores a small anonymous device identifier on secure EU servers, used exclusively to enforce the free trial fairly. This data is completely anonymous and never linked to your identity. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
